synopsis

Contemporary Romance/Suspense– This collection contains all 3 books in the Steel Veins series.

Too Rough For Love (#1)
Too Wild To Ride (#2)
Too Fast For Hope (#3)

When the Steel Veins MC rolled in, Star’s life was changed forever. Her only chance of surviving the vicious gang lies in the hands of a terrifying, yet dangerously handsome biker, Remy “Poet” Daniels.

But Remy’s MC has twisted itself into something he doesn’t even recognize anymore, and as long as the two remain with the club, he can’t keep Star safe.

All alone and hunted, they are forced to overcome rival clubs, hit squads, corrupt cops and death itself.

Their old lives reduced to ashes, one young woman and an outlaw are forced to trust each other to survive. Can Star live in his violent world, or is Remy’s love just too rough?

Author’s Note- Hang on tight! This is a fast, brutal, explicitly sexy and heart-wrenching series. This thrill ride is NOT for the faint of heart!

Jacque’s Review:

Star is in the wrong place at the wrong time. A witness to a murder she finds herself in a situation with no way out. That is until the killer finds something in her worth saving. Remy sees something in her and risks everything he knows to save her. Now on the run for their lives, they stand a chance of being together if they can survive.  Yeah I know, that was kind of vague but if you read the blurbs for each book really do cover what is going on.

I never watched SOA and I’ve only ever read one other, what I call, hard-core MC book so really I have no idea what kind of formula goes into one of these books. But, if there was a formula I would say Steel Veins has it. Brutal, harsh and passion filled I found myself both cringing and cheering with all the shenanigans that take place in this book. Now for a few words on what I thought about Steel Veins:

WOW! YIKES! THAT’S HOT! I’m never going to get that image out of my head. YES!

I really didn’t know what to make of Star in the beginning. She didn’t come off dumb to me but she seemed to absorb everything around her fairly quickly without falling apart. I know I would have been one of those screamers that would have gotten a bullet just to shut me up. She does go through some pretty horrific things that change her. But as the story progresses you realize she’s more than just a survivor, she’s a fighter and a smart one at that. Remy is more than he seems. There’s a lot in his past that have made him become who he is. As each layer of his life is exposed, I found he myself drawn further in love with his character. Thankfully, the  story is told completely in first person but from dueling points between Star and Remy so it was easy to see what was going on through their minds. The battles that they faced to stay alive and their smoking hot, sometimes volatile sex that ultimately bring them together kept me reeling.

Now for a disclaimer about things that may disturb a reader. Hope you like it violent because it certainly has quite a lot of it. Lots of fighting going on in this book but there’s also revenge that is cringe worthy (Todd) and others I gagged through (Eyeballs). There’s also a near rape scene. Thankfully it was just a near but still even coming that close to rape is disturbing. That factor alone has me bumping my Flame rating up. This book is not for the easily shocked or squeamish so if either of those things bother you, put this book down and find something fluffy to read.

I’m very thankful I got to review the entire boxed set in one shot. I don’t know if I could have handled all the cliffhangers author Adair Rymer supplied at the end of books 1 and 2 because they were fairly intense. Anyone who is into MC books or wants to try it out for the first time will find Steel Veins a great read. Definitely worth recommending.

I received this book from Stephanie’s Book Reports in exchange for my honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

Lecia’s Review:

First let me say I am a huge MC book fan I love most things MC and this series didn’t disappoint.  You have Star who is stuck with family members she doesn’t really know and a graduated quarterback who can’t get past his glory days, poor girl!  Then one day everything changes a huge  motorcycle gang ride in and Remy ends up stealing Star.  At first she is scared and frightened with good reason but after awhile she realizes Remy is her destiny. Loyalties are tested rules are broken and love is found.  Great series.
