synopsis

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Carla’s Review:

5 stars for Wicked by Jennifer Armentrout!  WOW!!  Jennifer has hit another
home run with this latest book!  This book is phenomenal and  kept me
entranced from the very first paragraph!

Ivy is a young college student who lives in New Orleans.  Does she work at
the campus bookstore or her favorite coffee spot?  Of course not!  She
works for a secret organization known as The Order.  Her job is to protect
the human race from the mystical creatures known as the “Fae” who feed off
of them.

One night while she is out hunting, she comes up against a fae unlike any
other she has ever encountered.  She is injured and returns to the
headquarters of The Order seeking help.  Her superior, David, assigns her
to  work with a transfer recruit named Ren.  She and Ren are instantly
attracted to one another, and it doesnt take Ren long to knock down all of
the protective barriers that Ivy has carefully constructed around her heart.

My absolute favorite character in this book is Tink.  Tink is a brownie
(similar to a fairy) that Ivy rescued.  He is from the otherworld, and no
one knows he exists. Tink is flat out hilarious.  The things he says and
does will have you laughing out loud! He may not be one of the main
characters, but he added a lot of fun to the story!

I am such a fan of J. Armentrout’s writing!  She knows how to create
characters that you will love along with a story line that will keep you on
the edge of your seat!  I need to read the next book in this series asap
but will have to wait til summer! 🙁  So, I ask you, what in the heck are
you waiting for?  One click this, NOW!!

5star
