You no longer exist to the outside world. You’re transparent, at least that’s how I felt until I met Emily. She was kind, and in my world people like her were far and few between. I was drawn to her like a magnet. I wanted her, but I’d kill myself trying to get her because she was damaged. I just didn’t know it yet.

James King was in the wrong place at the wrong time. His friend gave him a back pack to hold and then ran off. The police were there and when they opened the back pack, it contained quiet a bit of cocaine. Because of this, James spends 16 months in jail. When he is released, he goes to his mother’s house, and it is there he meets Emily. He has never had a good relationship with his mother and when he discovers all of her dirty secrets, he cuts her out of his life. While driving, Emily spots James walking down the road and notices that he is drunk. She takes him home with her to take care of him. They are each sexually attracted to one another, and it doesn’t take them long to become intimate. Events transpire that cause Emily to doubt her relationship with James. Will they realize that the love they share is pure and unique, or will they just give up?
I enjoyed Jennifer Raygoza’s writing style. The story line was enjoyable and progressed nicely. Overall, this is a good book that I would have no problem recommending.
