Carla’s 4 Star Review:
*I was given a copy of this book as a gift from Stephanie’s Book Reports in exchange for an honest review.
4 stars for Marital Blissaster by Brooklyn Taylor.
Callie Hartley and Madison Reid have been best friends for what seems like forever, but the two women could not be more opposite. Callie has a strong moral compass while Madison does not. When Callie first met her husband, Blake, she knew that he was the only one for her. She and Blake have a marriage that is built on a strong foundation of mutual love and respect.
After years of being ignored by her parents, Madison is desperate for someone to love her. One night at a party, she hooks up with Hudson Greer who is a major asshole. Even though they each know that they aren’t really in love with one another, they continue to hook up because the sex is great. After she becomes pregnant, the two decide to marry which is a major mistake. They each love their daughter, but they are both miserable living a lie. When temptation rears it’s ugly head, Madison makes some really bad choices that just might lead to the end of her 10 year marriage. The question is-does she even care? As choices are made that can’t be reversed, the friendship between Callie and Maddie is forever changed.
When I first started reading this book, I thought that I would hate it. Cheating is a major turn off for me. I decided to give it a try, and I am glad that I did. Through this story, Brooklyn Taylor shines a spot light on infidelity. She doesn’t just focus on the aspect of cheating, she also focuses on the ripple effect that it causes. Kudos to her for a job well done!!
time job in the medical field. I love to spend my free time reading, being outside and playing with my family and 4 fur babies. I started to write at the instinct of “”hey maybe I can do that!”” I have enjoyed every step of the journey. I am blessed to have very supportive friends and family that make my like worth living!
