#1 New York Times bestselling author S.C. Stephens brings us the next book in her Thoughtless series!
The spotlight doesn’t only shine. Sometimes it burns.
Being the bad-boy bassist for the world’s hottest band has earned Griffin Hancock some perks: a big house, a fast car, and most importantly his incredible wife, Anna. The one thing it hasn’t brought him is the spotlight. Anna tells him to be patient, that his talent will win out. But Griffin is through waiting for permission to shine.
Without warning, Griffin makes a shocking decision and takes the gamble of a lifetime. Suddenly he’s caught up in a new level of lights, cameras, and chaos. One that pushes his relationship with Anna to its limits. Anna has always found his unpredictable behavior sexy, but lately he’s seen an ache in her eyes–and it has his soul in knots. Just as the recognition Griffin seeks is finally within reach, the thing he loves most in life could be slipping through his fingers…
Her debut novel, Thoughtless, an angst-filled love triangle charged with insurmountable passion and the unforgettable Kellan Kyle, took the literary world by storm. Amazed and surprised by the response to the release of Thoughtless in 2009, more stories were quick to follow. Stephens has been writing nonstop ever since.
In addition to writing, Stephens enjoys spending lazy afternoons in the sun reading fabulous novels, loading up her iPod with writer’s block reducing music, heading out to the movies, and spending quality time with her friends and family. She currently resides in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her two equally beautiful children.
Renee’s Review:
I received a copy of this book from the publisher for an honest review. Untamed is the fifth book in the Thoughtless Series by SC Stephens. This is Griffin Hancock, bassist for the D-Bags book. He’s got a beautiful wife Anna, precious baby girl Gibson, huge house, and lots of money, not to mention being in the biggest rock band in the world. The one thing he feels is missing is his time in the spotlight. Griffin’s not having that and a rash decision is made. Could this be the wrong decision? Could it cost him everything? I was so excited that I got to read and review this book. I dug into it with a giddy excitement and thought Griffin was the greatest thing since sliced bread. With that said, it did not take me long to do a complete three sixty and start not liking Griffin very much at all. He’s simply awful!! He’s rude, crude, cocky, has the mouth of a sailor that I wondered if he kissed his mom with, and has a huge complex that he’s deserving of the spotlight. The spotlight he feels his other band members keep holding him back from. Never mind that he contributes nothing to the band during the creative process. He just plays his bass and that’s so beneath him. He also has no qualms at all about telling people just exactly how awesome he is either. Anna, Griffin’s wife has got to be a saint to put up with him on a daily basis. They are however a great match. A match he takes for granted big time too. With the band denying his request for the spotlight everyday he soon becomes fed up and in his mind thinks he is better off without them. One rash decision made in haste could cost him everything. Everything he doesn’t appreciate. With it all gone how would he carry on? Can’t this man change? Is Griffin redeemable? SC Stephens did an amazing job with this book. I imagine Griffin could not have been an easy character to write at all. If you fell about Griffin like I did about halfway through the book , don’t you dare say enough of this, I’m done. That’s a decision you would regret. This story truly turns into one that will grab your heart and not let go. Anna will be your saving grace for a long while in this book too. I absolutely loved her and she loves Griffin. They are best friends, lovers that melt the pages, and all around perfect for each other. Perfect for reasons you have to read the book to find out about. While Kellan Kyle may be everyone’s favorite, I closed this book with a Griffin swoon or two. I think that you will too.
