The 69 Bottles series is one I’ve bragged on all year practically. I absolutely love these characters. I’ve been waiting for Zoey to write Peacock and Mouse’s story, and here it is. In the last book – Devouring Raine
So the story opens up with a little bit of history to catch up on events that have been happening from these two’s perspective. We’ve not heard much from them in previous books – I think because they really do just keep to themselves. In this story, however, Eric is determined to show Calvin how he feels about him. They’re best friends but the feelings Eric has for Calvin go beyond friendship.
Of course there’s more to the story that just an average run of the mill romance. Calvin has some major issues. I do mean major. His character is so messed up. The things in his head would take more than a lifetime to sort through. It’s a wonder he can keep himself afloat from all the crazy in there. This of course makes Eric more determined.
It wouldn’t be a Zoey Derrick novel without a bump or two in the road. Oh how the bump falls too. These two are more than just best friends. They’re lovers. They’re confidants. They’re advisors. They’re each other’s safety net.
Definitely another book for you to check out and add to your never ending TBR pile!
