I originally read this as part of the original four-part miniseries. This review will be on the full-length novel. Candace aka Candy find herself with a degree in a field she cannot find work because she has zero experience. So she chooses a career that’s less than stellar to her but allows her to meet Nathan Dumont. Initially she does not know his name. After a few times dancing for him he requests she joins him outside the club where she works. He pays her boss to allow her to leave. Little did Candy know her life would change forever after that moment.
I was happy my ARC included all four stories. I would not have like to have waited for the release of each book as you would have been left hanging in waiting. The series of events in the story were frustrating and you just wanted to shake Nathan Dumont or knock his head upside a wall. I thought Candy was crazy for staying with the man for as long as she did. She did try to get her outlet the best she could, but they both were miserable.
I was surprised at the ending of the story. I didn’t think Nathan would be weak in a few areas he tried to prove himself strong while he was in Candy’s presence. It’s amazing how the story changes out of site seemingly out of mind.
I enjoyed this series by Alessandra Torre. I recommend it to you. 4 Stars.
