F*ck Love

by Tarryn Fisher

Review

Synopsis

Helena Conway has fallen in love.
Unwillingly. Unwittingly.
But not unprovoked.
Kit Isley is everything she’s not—unstructured, untethered,
and not even a little bit careful.
It could all be so beautiful … if he wasn’t dating her best friend.
Helena must defy her heart, do the right thing, and think of others.
Until she doesn’t.

Virginia’s Review:

F*ck Love is a romance story told in a way that only Tarryn Fisher can. If you have read her books before, you know that her writing is unlike anyone else’s. It’s unique, it’s creative, it’s beautiful. It’s all Tarryn. If you haven’t read them, you are missing out. Her books are all so different in their plot. Completely different. But they are all so uniquely her and fabulous.

F*ck Love is my first read of 2016 and it’s 5 plus stars! From the very first words (where she tells her haters to F*ck off) to the very last ones, F*ck Love is brilliant and amazing. I was hooked from the very first chapter. I was like what the hell just happened. I ran and messaged people saying “OMG, here we go again. It’s gonna be a ride.” And it was. A fantastic, brilliant one. One I didn’t want to end.

Tarryn has a way with words. She always does. Her writing is so breathtaking and beautiful. It’s a gift. Doesn’t matter if it’s happy, dark or melancholy. It’s beautiful. You will read F*ck Love and start highlighting the words, phrases and sentences that stand out. Before you know it, the majority of the book will be highlighted.

And the emotions you FEEL when reading F*ck Love. Holy hell. Tarryn will have you all over the place. She will rip your heart out and then make it better. She will make you smile and laugh then she will make you mad. Be forewarned, there are a lot of ups and down but you will feel and enjoy every single one.

The characters. Helena, Kit, Della, Greer. They are messy and imperfect, as is what they go through. But that’s what real people and real life are right? Life isn’t all perfect. It’s ups and downs. It’s good then it’s bad. I loved that F*ck Love portrays that.

One thing I love about Tarryn and her books is that she puts parts of herself as a person and parts of her life into her stories and into her characters. In F*ck Love she shares her experiences in the beautiful town of Port Townsend, Washington with us by including real places she has been. And she shares photos on her Instagram, making the story come to life. Making me want to go there. Making me feel like I was part of the book.

And can we talk about all the Harry Potter references? And the chapter titles. Fabulous.

F*ck Love is witty. It’s fabulous. It’s creative. It’s unique. It’s beautiful. It’s Tarryn. At times you won’t know what’s going to happen next. It’s a ride. A fan-freaking-tastic ride. And I loved it.
