4 stars for Lost Wishes (A Troublemaker Novel) by Kelly Gendron. This is the story of Fallon and Katie, and it is a story about redemption and second chances.
While Fallon O’Conner’s wife, Hope, lay dying, she asks him to grant her three wishes. She tells him that she wants him to be happy, move on, and find someone to love. While those may seem like simple wishes to grant, Hope’s death devastates Fallon, and he closes his heart to everyone. However, this all changes when he finds a stowaway on his boat.
Katie Rustle’s boss sends her on a search to find a deed that is the possession of Fallon O’Conner. After sneaking onto his boat and rifling through his personal things, Katie is caught red handed. Through some events that are out of their control, the couple are forced to spend a few days with each other. The share an instant connection, and Katie ignites a spark within Fallon that he thought had died with Hope. He refuses to let himself fall for Katie, so he fights his feelings every step of the way. When a secret is revealed that has the power to destroy Fallon, will he give in and let Katie’s love save him?
The characters in this book were well developed which allowed me to connect with them on a personal level. The story line evoked a great deal emotion with me. I swear I was crying my eyes out one minute, while laughing out loud the next. This was my first time reading anything from this author, but it certainly won’t be the last! Go ahead, and one click it now; I promise you will not be disappointed!
