Congrats to JL on a fantastic book!! Falling Stars (The B Side) is a great story with some great messages.
I really enjoyed Lila’s journey of self-discovery and finding what it takes to make herself happy. Her journey was definitely filled with so many ups and downs; so many good moments and a lot of disappointments as well. Lila found herself in a lot of difficult situations; some brought on by herself; some not. I don’t agree with all of her choices. But it was her journey and she needed to go through it all.
Falling Stars is very well written with a fantastic plot. I loved the behind the scenes look into the world of music and DJs, something I was not familiar with. And the ending. Holy crap. I never saw that coming. At all. What a great plot twist! Great job on that JL!!
I loved Hunter. There were a few times I didn’t like him much and wanted to smack him but he wound up surprising me and I’m glad he did. And Grant- oh boy. Yeah. I won’t get into him. Just read it.
I came away from this book with a few of the messages:
- We can’t let the past hold us back. There is always better ahead for us; we need to learn from the past and move on.
- “Adaptability is a trait of a survivor” is a line in the book. We need to be flexible in life and that’s something I need to work on.
- When we look back on our lives, we need to think of what we had; the good not the bad.
