Wow! This book is simply phenomenal and a much needed breath of fresh air!
Thomas Wells’ life has been anything but easy. His mother walked out when he was just a toddler and left him with his abusive, alcoholic father. With every slap and every curse, Thomas became more determined to fulfill his dream of becoming a Navy SEAL. What he didn’t plan for was to meet the love of his life, Halo, at just 17. She was his light in the darkness. Fast forward a few years, the two are happily married, and the time has finally come for his deployment. Halo thinks their love is strong enough to overcome anything, but war has a way of changing a person. With each deployment, Thomas seems to lose more and more of himself. When Halo reveals some life changing news, it pushes Thomas over the edge, and he leaves for good. Halo is devastated and forced to face her future alone. Until him. Ryder St. John is a wounded soldier with no memory of his past. For reasons she can’t explain, Halo is drawn to Ryder and wants to help him. The two become friends, and after spending more and more time together, their feelings for one another grow. However, when Ryder’s Memory comes back and his past is revealed, Halo’s world is rocked to it’s core once again.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I loved this book! With so many “cookie cutter” books being published today, it was so enjoyable to read a story that is truly in a league of it’s own! The story line is fluid, and the characters are extremely well developed. If you are looking for a love story like no other you’ve read before, this is definitely the book for you!
