This is the third book in this series. You can read it as a stand alone but I would recommend reading them in order so you get the friendship dynamic. These are like crazy Sex in the City cupcake ladies. They’re four friends who’ve bonded and are more like family than simple friends. All of them are intertwined so tightly two of them they can pretty much tell how each are feeling and if they’re holding anything back just by their reactions/body language. They’re funny to read.
So Frankie – she might be my favorite yet. This poor woman has been through the wringer emotionally with her health. She suffers from endometriosis which reeks havoc on your body and reproductive system. She has some tough choices to make as part of her story and it sucks.
In Sugary Sweets we met Evan and Neil. They’re the new neighbors. Both have taken a liking to Frankie and she them. There’s an issue though – what about Brody? They’ve been friends and lovers for so long but can they break for good? I was so worried about this part of Frankie’s story. No lie. I told the author when I interviewed her on my YouTube Channel I would be upset if she picked the wrong guy! LOL
Every woman needs a partner she can lean on. That doesn’t make us week. It makes us stronger. Helps us carry the weight. Let’s face it – women usually carry the weight of the world on their shoulders. Having a partner who loves you and wants the very best for you will help carry some of that weight. Frankie wasn’t expecting that aspect of a relationship but she got it. I think that helped make a wold of a difference for her and her struggles.
I’m looking forward to the next installment, which is the final, for these ladies. Natasha is quite the enigma. With all the changes these four have grown through in this series so far it’ll be quite interesting to see how they all end up.
