When a rocker book comes out and I want to review it, I am always asked “Are you sure? It’s a rocker book.” I don’t know why I inspire that thought, maybe it’s because my preferred genre is PNRs. That said, if more rocker books are like Back-Up by A.M. Madden I may consider switching. THIS BOOK KICKS A$$!!!
Love the characters! Hot sexy rockers who are down to either. All the characters were easy to connect to because I was able to get a real sense that they are all true friends . The camaraderie of the friends really made the story. Did I mention hot and sexy rockers? I’m in a toss-up on who my favorite guy is: Jack or Evan. Leila is the perfect character. Strong and sweet at the same time. The sex between her and Jack is oh so yummy. Her relationship with both guys had me thinking they have got to end up in some kind of conflict. Nope. Really both relationships are great. I like the little twist the author managed to throw in about them. Normally, I can see the twist coming but I was so into the plot that really I just let my brain take a vacation and enjoyed the ride. Probably one of my favorite parts is the fact that Devil’s Lair is on the cusp of being a big band. They are still at that “You really like me” stage. More rocker books are of the biggest hottest ticket so to see them hit the road as a headliner for the first time is pretty cool. It also sounds like Cliffhangers is taking off, too. How cool would that be if those two groups ended up touring together! Just sayin’…
Really, I found Back-Up to be the perfect book. How do you make a perfect book even more perfect? Toss in a cliffhanger at the end. That would be my ‘duh’ moment since I didn’t know this was a series. This is author’s A.M. Madden debut novel. If Back-Up is any indication of what to expect from her in the future, I got to say I’m thrilled to have jumped onto the bandwagon from the very beginning. Once you start reading this book you wouldn’t be able to put it down. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
