Josslyn found perfection once, and she knows she’ll never find it again. Now widowed, she seeks the one thing her beloved husband couldn’t give her. Dominance. Lonely and searching for an outlet for her grief and wanting only a brief taste of the perfection she once enjoyed, she seeks what she’s looking for at an exclusive club that caters to people indulging in their most hedonistic fantasies. She never imagined that what she’d find is the one man who’s long been a source of comfort—and secret longing. Her husband’s best friend.
Dash has lived in an untenable position for years. In love with his best friend’s wife and unwilling to act on that attraction. He’d never betray his best friend. And so he’s waited in the wings, offering Joss unconditional support and comfort as she works past her grief, hoping for the day when he can offer her more.
When he finds her in a club devoted to the darker edges of desire, he’s furious because he thinks she has no idea what she’s getting herself into. Until she explains in detail what it is she wants. What she needs. As realization sets in, he is gripped by fierce, unwavering determination. If she wants dominance, he is the only man who will introduce her to that world. He is the only man who will touch her, cherish her…love her. And the only man she’ll ever submit to.

I love, love, love BDSM stories. This story isn’t hard core BDSM. It’s lead female has a calling in her to submit. Her husband was a gentle soul and could never Dominate her as she craved. So she buried it for him. Then he died. After more than a year grieving Joss decides to look into a club where she can find the right man to Dominate her, not knowing he’s been by her side for years.
Dash, her husband’s best friend, has been in love with her since he laid eyes on Josslyn. He just couldn’t have her. She belonged to his best friend. When he saw Josslyn at the club all bets were off. She was HIS!
Finding out about each other’s preferences should have been disconcerting. However Josslyn found she was very attractive to Dash and felt she could try a D/s relationship with him. She trusted him and felt safe with him.
You know of course there’ll be some drama involved. Gotta go through that in every day life, why not in fiction too?! I think the author did a great job writing the characters so they fit together perfectly. They shared friends, likes, dislikes, and had a common sexual craving. Now to work out the kinks. No pun intended.
New relationships are tricky and a D/s one is no different. There’s the learning of the way the Dom wants the submissive presented, to wear, to feed them, take care of them. It’s in their Dominate natures. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. 5 stars

I was given a paperback copy in exchange for an honest review. I am a girl who judges a book by it’s cover and the cover of this book is beautiful. I am glad I got it in paperback so I can look at it all the time.
I have not read a lot of BDSM but I really enjoyed the book. I read it on two days while on cold meds and couldn’t get enough. It is one of those books that as I was reading it I look at the chapter and then the next time I notice the chapter number I can’t believe I’d read that much. Maya Banks did a wonderful job on character development and writing the characters so that they fit together. They have the same interests both inside and outside of their D/S relationship but the story still shows how they have to make the switch from the relationship of him looking after her after her husbands death to them figuring out how this mew relationship will work. It was a great read and I say grab it today you will love it.
