Renee’s Five Star Review:
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Oakley Spurlock is dying. She only has weeks to live thanks to a freak infection that totally and completely destroyed her kidneys. Despite her family’s desperation, not a single one of them is a match. In a last-ditch attempt, Oakley’s father takes to social media to be for help to save his daughter’s life.
Pace Vineyard is lost. So lost, in face, that he’s not sure he wants to be found. But then a beautiful woman’s face is splashed across social media, and Pace finds a spark in his soul for the first time since a bomb went off beside him. He’s already missing two legs. What’s one more kidney? At least, that’s what he tells himself. What he doesn’t expect is to give his heart to the woman too. Or for the woman to run away with it and force him to follow.
Oh my gosh this book is amazing. I simply could not put it down. Pace was in the army and is best friends with his team. On a bright sunny day when a care package arrives for his friend Ford from his sister Oakley. Pace always looked forward to them as much as Ford and on this occasion a white bunny is tossed at him as a bomb goes off causing Ford to lose both of his legs from the knee down. Years pass and as he is looking at social media he sees a familiar face in desperate need of a kidney. Without a second though Pace gets tested and is a match for Oakley. Not only is he going to save her life but he also is going to deal with a whole lot of feelings for her and she for him. This book is so amazing. Your going to fall so in love with Pace and Oakley. Her whole entire family too. I devoured it in a matter of a day and didn’t lay it down one time. As always the headers of the chapters are the best. They crack me up with each and every book. This one is a must read. A story of love and loss and dealing with all that comes with both.
