Hitman is a dark romance and might contain some triggers for some people. You should heed the warnings before diving in to this book. Talk about a book that has great examples of good versus evil, light versus darkness, and right versus wrong. You are about to meet Monroe and Alaric. He is a hitman. He doesn’t care who he kills as long as someone tells him to do it and he makes a lot of money doing it. One night after a kill he decides it is time to visit the bar Purgatory and sets his eyes on the bartender. She of course is sweet and innocent and no matter how many times she tells her boss know he still tries to get her to work the rooms but when Alaric wants her to come out in the alley and offers her money for a kiss he can tell that she is desperate for money. This desperation makes her go to a room with him and while they don’t go all the way they do do a naughty thing and he gives her all the money he has in his overflowing billfold. This sets in motion what I would call an obsession on Alaric’s part and he sets out to find sweet Monroe. He is out to corrupt her, ruin her, have her on her knees and a broken little toy for him. This book has triggers popping up all over the place. But with that said all the twists and turns and things going on keep you reading like there is no tomorrow. This is the story of man who has not one intention of caring about anyone much less falling in love with them. But Monroe is his match and he has met it. Hold on tight for it is one heck of a ride. Don’t worry either this book is complete. It has a happily ever after and it might just be one of the most twisted happily ever after’s ever written.
