Sugar Wood by Brynn Ford Release and Review

Release Date: November 12

I never imagined something so twisted and toxic could become my future, but I want it. I want every ounce of their poisonous passion.

★★★★★ “Sugar Wood isn’t your normal romance book. It’s dark, gritty, sensual in all the wrong places, and will leave you gasping.” -Andrea, Goodreads Review-

I don’t believe in evil or enchantments. I know better than to believe in things that don’t exist. But I’m certain of the sickness of humanity and the twisted energy it leaves behind…and Sugar Wood Forest is infected with it.

My home is infected, too. The preppy college boy and his heiress stepsister I’ve trapped within it will feel the effects of that soon enough.

They said they were lost when they stumbled upon my cabin in the woods, but I’d seen them out there earlier trying to bury their secrets together—the same way I’d buried mine. I should’ve sent them away, but instead I stole them and locked them up.

And now their own wicked energy plagues me, drawing us all together with toxic desire.

These two are my secret now.
But I haven’t decided yet whether they’re a secret worth keeping or burying.
This steamy dark romance is a twisted retelling of Hansel & Gretel which features an MMF relationship. Heed the warning—this is a dark story and parts of it may be upsetting to some readers. Please use your best judgment in deciding whether this book is for you.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

If you love dark books and retelling of fairytales then you are going to love this one. I am not even sure how to review this one either without ruining something. I do not even think that I myself read the description of this book before diving it. I just went in head first and loved every single second of it. I should warn you though that there are dark themes in this book and you will want to heed the warnings and proceed with caution. This is the story of about Glory who is the daughter of a man who is owner of a factory that her mother stared and he got when she died so they are rich but they have a deep dark secret and before you even get started good you know that secret and oh my gosh did I ever want to go and steal Glory out of this book. But she has a stepbrother who saves her from herself when she gets in trouble. Huxley is in college like she is and wasn’t coming home for winter break but Glory was and when he found out and it made no sense to him he goes home and this is the beginning of their journey that leads them to Ambrose. A young man who has had a rough life and lives in the Sugar Wood Forest and never wants to be found but when Glory and Huxley get lost they might just discover that everything is well worth what they are all going through. Like I said I loved this book. I devoured it and I was sad to see it end. This was a great dark read that you do not want to miss.

Brynn Ford is an author of dark and dirty romance for daring readers. She is a lover of the dark, twisted, and playful and strives to bring the unmentionable aspects of passionate romance into her stories.
Brynn lives in the Midwestern United States with her husband and sons, whom she expects will someday be embarrassed by their mom’s books. When she isn’t obsessively writing, you may find her binge watching favorite shows while eating far too much junk food or fanatically reading, always seeking to lose herself in the emotional roller coaster of a damn good story.

She is quite the idealist despite her fascination with the wicked and warped aspects of humanity. She’s a firm believer that her characters continue to live on outside the pages in the minds of her readers. Stories don’t just end because there aren’t any more pages to turn.

About Renee Henson

Renee Henson has an obsession with reading and reviewing. Especially anything that is a dark romance, fairy tale retelling, MC, and is trying her best to love the PNR worlds. Nothing is quiet as exciting to her as reading a good book and then talking about it or making comments while reading with her friends that have read the book too. She is always happiest with her kindle in her hand and her nose is a book. She has been reviewing for Stephanie's Book Reports for over ten years.
