Callous Player by R.C. Stephens Release and Review

This is the story of Poppy and Declan. If you haven’t read the first two book in this series I am now going to recommend them to you because I am loving this series very much and was super excited to get Declan and Poppy’s story in my hands.
Declan is a guy who carries the weight of the world on him. He is probably one of the nicest best guys you would ever meet. He is trying his hardest to be drafted in to the NHL and help our with his brother. It is the most important thing in the world to him. Not may people get to see the real him because he won’t let them. He is a guy that drowns his sorrows while hiding all the shame he carries for all the lies he has build. It’s a lot of pressure on one guy to keep all that close to the vest. I felt so sorry for him for this. The guys is good on the ice and he relentlessly works all the time to makes his dream a reality. One night at a bar though and he finds himself helping a girl out of a sticky situation all while still drowning his sorrows which leads him to share a lot of things with this complete stranger of a girl. The next day though he has no memory of what happened at the bar.
Poppy is the girl form the bar and she knows all to well what it is to struggle and have to work really hard to get the things you want out of like and keep your place in the world as you know it. She has a dream of stepping out of her shell and become a journalist. She is tired of living in the shadow of her hockey playing brother. Her assignment turns out to be writing a story about the next great hockey sensation who just so happens to be Declan and he sees all of this as one big annoyance. But the more time they spend together the more they begin to see who Poppy really is. A girl with a big heart that is good and honest and driven and very generous. He needs that in his life, he actually more than needs he craves it and he soon finds himself opening up to Poppy as well. Will these two be able to make it since she if off limits and onw of his best friends sister? Add in family drama a hockey team, a NHL draft, some jealous roommates and a hole lost of sparks flying off the pages and you have a really great read. On that I enjoyed and loved Declan and Poppy as the main characters. It is so easy to fall in love with both of them and their amazing story. You do not want to miss it.
