I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the sixth book in the Twisted Legends which is a multi-author Collection. Each book is a standalone This is a dark Mafia romance inspired by The Deal with the Devil at the Crossroads legend, and the story of Vincent and Morrigan story.
Morrigan O’Rourke is a girl who is slowly trying her darndest to get out of her father’s control. She is setting up a secret fetish club with her very best friend and now has her own secret place . However when you have a father in the life like he is in it is no surprise when he announces a surprise engagement between Morrigan and Ryan Holt. Ryan is a man who she use to like and is her father’s business but is now one of the most evil heartless men in their world. This has caused her to have to sped up he timeline on the secret club. However when she runs into Vince “The Serpent” Sinclair after years of avoiding the man that she loved with her entire heart, she makes a deal with him . Vincent is a man who is super powerful and a part of the Sanction which is an underworld that rules the town they live in. Maybe he is powerful enough to get her out of her father’s control once and for all. But there is the little matter of what the two of them mean to each other in the past. Vincent though is clear in his mind what he wants and that is Morrigan with him in his life forever. His second chance has finally fallen into his lap and he is not letting her go. There is nothing quite like vengeance to bring two dark souls together in the most delicious ways. I loved these character’s so much. Morrigan is such a bad butt and a strong woman who has the odds stacked against her but she is a fighter and is in the fight of her life for the life she wants out of so desperately. When you can put fear in a man as a woman, there is a certain power in that and I loved that about her. Vincent is the perfect anti-hero. He is dark and brooding and just really super delicious. The past of these two just shows you no matter how hard you try some people just never leave your heart at all once you have loved them. Maybe they were the darkest of soul mates after all. You will have to read to find out. I for one loved this story. It does have a lot going on and I have to say I really was not a fan of Ryan but that is to be expected in this story I would say or it was to me. I loved them as individual characters and I loved them even more when there connection came shining through.
