I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is a retelling of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and it was so fun to read. It is also a bit of a dark story so you will want to heed the warning sin the beginning of the book.
I was hooked from the beginning and didn’t put this book down until I was finished. Catherine is a lab assistant and now that I have read the book I do believe that she would never have insisted on being the lab assistant of Jekyll or Henry. He is a scientist who is working on a formula on animals that is not really working. However he does not want to lose his funding and he is also convinced that Catherine was sent to spy on him. After all he never asked for an assistant and he really wants her nowhere near his work. But he really needs this to work and his only choice is to try the formula on himself and it turns him into a totally different person that he calls Hyde and claims to be Henry’s brother. This guy is a true predator with the kind of devil may care attitude and dominance in spades run through his blood. Now being two people who are polar opposites and determined to have Catherine you have quite the story to read. It is twisted and dark and a book you will not put down and when you do finished you’re going to be all what the heck did I just read. But, in the best way possible. Sorry I can’t tell you a lot about the story. I never want to give a spoiler and I am so afraid if I say much more I will. Just go and grab this book and enjoy the twisted ride that is Jekyll.

I took a step back and raced forward, shoving my shoulder against the bedroom door. The wood easily splintered from the hinges as the lock gave way. The door swung open.
On the other side was Catherine, backed into a corner, holding a small nightstand lamp aloft as a makeshift weapon. Her beautiful hair was down and lying in waves over her shoulders; with her glasses placed neatly on the nightstand, I had an unobstructed view of the alarm in her gorgeous emerald eyes.
“Stay back!”
I lifted my arm and let one side of the handcuffs tumble out. “Now why would I do that.”
Her beautiful eyes widened.
This was going to be fun.
Catherine chucked the lamp at my head and tried to run past me. I deflected the lamp with my right forearm, and snatched her around the waist with my left. “Not so fast, little one.”
I grabbed her by the chin. “Miss me?”
