I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This a dystopian romance. I don’t know that I would call in a dark book, but you need to heed the warning in the beginning of this book. This is the first book in a duet from Michelle Heaard. This is the story of Jai and Chance. She is a girl living in the ecosystem after the world has been destroyed in the wars that happened. The ecosystem is where she is from and it is the only life she has ever known until her mother is taken away and she begins to feel things she shouldn’t according to society. It kind of reminded me of people living in a dome with not a clue what the world was life before the wars and now they are just making people emotionless sheep. There are many more women than men and the women at a certain age are either a wife to one man or a bearer. They basically just have babies every so often with just any old single man. She is really nervous about what position she will be chosen for and it never really enters her head that she could be chosen to be a crusader to go out and see if any of the deviants are really suppose to be in the ecosystem. However things are not as they seems and a whole lot goes on in this book and I thought that the story line was original and super interesting. I was done with this book before I knew it because I was so into the story. You do not want me to go into anymore of the story. You need to let the story unfold as it does so that you understand perfectly. This is the first book in a duet so there is a cliffhanger. But not one that leaves you about to have a fit and throw your kindle. Plus the second book will come out soon so you do not have to wait very long to find out how this story is going to conclude. I personally loved every single second of this story and can’t wait to get the next book in my hot little hands.
