I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the story of Maverick and Phoenix. These two have known each other their entire lives. They were neighbors in Malibu Cove until he just disappears one day. She just goes on about her life the only way you would be able to do when your neighbor just disappears, but her life is getting flipped upside down because of a family scandal. She is devastated to say the least. This little scandal didn’t just cause her mom to end up in rehab and her father to move another woman in. It cost her most of her friends, but my thought is were they really ever her friends to begin with if they left because of something her parent did, I think not. But she also lost her boyfriend. Talk about a real mess. But she was still determined to live her life with her two best friends at her side. However she never saw her new stepbrother coming and being of all people Maverick and she is not happy at all. After all hes been gone, just vanished for two years and now he is just back looking like every girls dream come true. All the girls at school wanted him now like never before and all he wanted was for Phoenix to fall for him hook line and sinker. He just never thought he would do the same exact thing. He is there for revenge after all and the center of that plan is to get her to fall for him. However will he get his revenge or will he break both of their hearts in the process. You have to read to find out. I feel like I am going to say too much and don’t want to give away anything that would ruin the book for someone. I picked this book up and didn’t lay it down until I was finished. You do not want to miss this book.
