Killian
I’m a businessman, and I follow my own set of rules. People know not to underestimate me. They say I’m ruthless and heartless, and they’re not wrong. I don’t hide who or what I am. Nobody crosses me, and every debt must be paid. No exceptions.
Until I get an offer for something I can’t refuse… her.
I’m not a nice guy, but I’m also not the evil people need to watch out for. What you see is what you get with me. True evil is the one that pretends to be righteous and good while he sells his soul, or his niece, to the devil.
Zoey
I knew my uncle resented taking me in, but I didn’t think he hated me enough to go this far. Killian Montgomery is evil. He owns half the city and now me, too. I hate him, but I want him. I’m torn between his corruption and my innocence—resist temptation or surrender control.
I’m an acquisition—a piece of property he possesses because of another’s vice. Making me one of his sinful gains, and I should hate it. So, why am I falling for the man who owns my body and soul?

Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This book is really good and you are going to love the story that Killian and Zoey have to tell.
Killian might be a ruthless business man but also people have the perception of him that he is a bad bad man. But in reality he himself isn’t. He is after all a ruthless business man that you do not want to cross and he never lets a debt go unpaid. When he sees Zoey he really likes what he sees. What he does not like is her uncle who owes a huge debt to Killian. He never expects the man to offer up his niece in exchange for his bet. Killian however can’t help but accept because he is really attracted to her and he can’t let her uncle treat her that way. While Zoey knew that her uncle resented her for him having to take her in when she had no one. She never in a million years expects him to use her as a debt payment. She should be appalled. She shouldn’t be attracted to the debt collector and she is far to innocent to dive in the deep in with Killian. She doesn’t really understand how her head can say one thing but her body has other ideas. This is a quick fun to read book. I loved every second of it.
I spend my days working, my evenings with my two beautiful kids, and my nights are when the characters in my head are given free rein. The tagline for Phoenix Bar, “Beauty After the Burn,” holds special meaning for me and really helped to give birth to the story. Like Phoenix, I’ve had to rebuild my life from the ashes. It’s been a long journey with a roller coaster of emotions and stresses, but I can honestly say where my life is now is more beautiful than where it was. I am fulfilling my lifelong dream of being an author.
