Renee’s Four Star Romance
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the story of Leo and Victoria. These two have grown up together and he knows that she has a super abusive stepfather. They really do love each other and that love has grown over the years. Everyone knows that Victoria has a terrible home life and along with some other friends they try to protect her from that. However they are just kids right here and still don’t understand what exactly is going on. When their feelings take a more serious turn she disappears into thin air and for the next twelve years he searches for her. This is the story of two people who never gave up on each other and the journey is not pretty and it does get heavy at times. Vic lives through things that no one should ever have to survive. Leo never gives up even when things get so hopeless. This is a super emotional read and you probably are going to shed some tears.

“I never understood why my mommy would think that we had demons living among us, but then I met mine, and everything made sense.”
“I never wanted to go back home. I didn’t belong there anymore.”
“My mom was right. Life was going to be nasty, and demons were going to lurk around me. She taught me mundane stuff like how not to starve, how to use the washing machine so I wore clean clothes, and not to accept anything from strangers, but she’d never taught me how to survive Zach. She thought Zach was a decent stepfather , and at some point he was, until he wasn’t.”
