BLURB

Warren was the boy Kate always had a crush on as a girl. Her brother’s best friend.

And his murderer.

A decade after Warren was imprisoned, Kate’s life hasn’t quite turned out how she’d have liked. She works for her father’s seedy nightclub-turned-casino, trying to outrun her suicidal thoughts, knowing that eventually she’ll run out of breath.

But when her father loses the business—and their house with it—Kate’s breathing finally begins to stutter.

Kate was the little sister Warren had always wanted.

And the daughter of the man who framed him.

Finally free, Warren’s only goal is to enact revenge on the man responsible for ruining his life. A twist of fate made him a billionaire, but ruthless tenacity will ensure he gets what he wants.

Except he finds Kate where he left her all those years ago, and suddenly his feelings for her aren’t so sisterly after all…

WARNING: Heart of Stone is a dark romance with foul language and explicit sexual content. It includes reference to or the depiction of injury, torture, and human trafficking. There is no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed HEA.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is a dark romance. You will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. You will want to heed them because there are things in this book that will be triggering for some readers. I loved this book. It is one that you can’t put down once you pick it up. Katie is just a character that gosh never caught a break in life. Her mother died giving birth to her and that left her with her slime bag of a father. He is a man who is incapable of loving anyone but her brother who he was grooming to fall right in his place. Then life brought her Warren. Her brothers best friend and the only person that really ever paid any attention to her. An orphan himself he really didn’t have much better of a life but he always made sure to show her care and compassion and she fell for him before she was really even old enough to know what love is. In an even more cruel twist of fate there is an accident that Warren wasn’t responsible for her father framed him and he went off to prison. This was tragic and then what follows is her father keeping her in the dark and using her like a bank to take out all kinds of loans and she hasn’t a clue why until he loses their house and his business in a card game. Warren now out of prison never thought he would see her again. She would have grown up and got out from her father and been having the most amazing life. But that is so far from where he finds her and he is convinced she is in on everything with her father. Not letting anything take away his revenge he takes them and I can’t tell you anymore than that. Oh gosh i wish I could because I could go on and on and on about this book. There are lies and twists and turns all over the place and you will spend more time on the edge of your seat that you will relaxing in it. You do not want to miss this book. It is also the first in the series and I can’t wait to see what the next book brings us.
