BLURB

We all know the rhyme.

Secrets, secrets are no fun unless you share with everyone.

But that’s not true for this secret.

This secret is not meant to be shared.

It’s locked inside me.

Always trying to escape by pushing me beneath the surface.

Drowning me.

Still, I keep it hidden.

Until one look into his dark, consuming eyes convinces me to tell him everything.

And I try to. I really do.

But sometimes, secrets have a way of revealing themselves on their own.

Even when we least expect it.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is the story of Nathan and Natalie, and oh what a story it is. These two have known each other since childhood. Each of their best friends were brother and sister. She has suffered through a tragic event that happens last Halloween and she has been living her life in total isolation. I might as well go ahead and warn you that you are going to really feel for her through this entire book. If she was real you would want to hug her and do anything for her that you could. Ten months of isolation and anxiety have kept her to herself but the time has come for her fresh start. She moves to Boston and is going to attend college. No one will know her there so it is the perfect place to start over. It does not take long until she runs into the one person she would have never in a million years expected to run into. Nathan, her brother’s best friend and the guy she had a crush on while they were growing up. It’s not long until they are studying together and he is trying his hardest to forget the feelings that he once had for her. She is keeping secrets. Huge ones that one day are going to explode right in front of her face. However as they get closer things will start to unwind and you will find that he too is keeping secrets that are really about to catch up with him.
I loved these characters. Natalie is a girl who has been through something horrific and the anxiety she suffers is something I think a lot of readers will connect with while reading this book. I know I sure did. Anxiety is horrible to have to deal with and it will turn your world upside down and cause you not to be able to function as you once did. Nathan is gosh we all need a Nathan in our lives. Any man that wants to take care of the girl he cares about by keeping notes in his phone to help him deal with her anxiety is a winner in my book. I think everyone is going to love Nathan. I don’t want to talk about them too much, but believe me I really could, I don’t want to give something away in the book. It is a book that you need to experience for yourself. I loved this book and I really am impressed this was a debut novel. I think if I didn’t know I would have never known. The characters and the writing. The flow of the story and how we get to know these characters was nothing short of amazing.
