This is the first book in the Sinclair Duet. This is the story of Damien and Ella. She used to work for him and he consumed her entire life. These two must have been pure fire in the past. She was his assistant and felt like she wasn’t being seen and went out on her own and is now doing an absolutely amazing job at her new job. However when she has to go to a fundraising gala she has planned and worked hard on she sees him in the airport deli. To one up him she pays for his lunch and leaves getting a huge kick out of paying when he was going to pay for her meal. However when she gets on her plane now in first class because her other one was overbooked, she never in a million years thought she would be seated next to Damien. Damien is the CEO of a pharmaceutical production company his father owns. His older brother tried to run the company and did not do a good job. Now Damien is doing amazing but he is in a probation period and has five months left until he is fully the CEO and can’t be removed. When he sees Ella after these past two years without her he is thrilled. He has never forgotten her. He knows he loves her and has to have her back in his life. He is willing to do anything he needs to to make that happen. Even if he has to play a little dirty.
I loved this story. I was hooked from the beginning to the very end. There is more going on in this book than I have told you about. I didn’t want to spoil anything and feel like peeling back the layers of an Aleatha Romig book is a whole lot of fun to do. I can’t wait to find out next. I was so proud when I closed this book and you will see why when you read it.
