I am not even sure where to begin to write this review. I have just closed this book yesterday and I am still thinking about it today. I am going to have the worst book hangover known to man for a while. This is a dark romance and you will want to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. It will contain triggers for some readers. I will go ahead and tell you that this book is on go from the moment you pick it up till the second you finish it. You will devour it. If you have read the original EKC series then you know who Bishop and Madison are. If you haven’t read it, you don’t need to but I highly recommend that you read that series at some point because it is amazing. Halen is their daughter and she is certainly an example of the apple not falling far from the tree. She is her dad’s daughter for sure. She has certainly not lived a sheltered life like you might think…her mom and dad have let her live her life and she is one tough cookie. She has experienced the darkness and she is getting ready for the initiation as the next Kings in the secret society that is a really powerful one. However since she saved her family she has been suffering in silence for years. However that has made her ruthless if not a little twisted and I was living for it.
