From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Callie Hart comes a brand new, highly addicting enemies-to-lovers Romantasy with razor-sharp banter, heart-stopping action, and blistering hot romance that you won’t be able to put down!

Do not touch the sword.

Do not turn the key.

Do not open the gate.

In the land of the unforgiving desert, there isn’t much a girl wouldn’t do for a glass of water.

Twenty-four-year-old Saeris Fane is good at keeping secrets. No one knows about the strange powers she possesses, or the fact that she has been picking pockets and stealing from the Undying Queen’s reservoirs for as long as she can remember.

But a secret is like a knot.

Sooner or later, it is bound to come undone.

When Saeris comes face-to-face with Death himself, she inadvertently reopens a gateway between realms and is transported to a land of ice and snow. The Fae have always been the stuff of myth, of legend, of nightmares…but it turns out they’re real, and Saeris has landed herself right in the middle of a centuries-long conflict that might just get her killed.

The first of her kind to tread the frozen mountains of Yvelia in over a thousand years, Saeris mistakenly binds herself to Kingfisher, a handsome Fae warrior, who has secrets and nefarious agendas of his own. He will use her Alchemist’s magic to protect his people, no matter what it costs him… or her.

Death has a name.

It is Kingfisher of the Ajun Gate.

His past is murky.

His attitude stinks.

And he’s the only way Saeris is going to make it home.

Be careful of the deals you make, dear child.

The devil is in the details…

N.B. Quicksilver contains depictions of graphic violence/adult situations and is therefore recommended for readers 17+.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review.

Let me start off by saying I am not the biggest paranormal reader out there. However, this book caught my attention and I am hooked. I loved reading this book!!! It will grab your attention from the beginning and you won’t lay it down until you are finished.
This is the story of Saeris and Kingfisher. Now don’t worry, I know when I see names I don’t know how to say it drives me crazy trying to read the right name. There is an index in the beginning of the book that will tell you how to say the names of characters and places you are going to be going while reading this book. Saeris is a human girl living in a horrible world ruled by a horrible queen who could care less about the people in her ward. They are basically being starved and thirsted to death and the only way to survive is by any means necessary. She has a brother and she must protect him at all cost. However when the opportunity arises and she can steal something she can melt down she takes that chance and runs. However, the queens guard have tracked her down and now things are bad for her. This is how she ends up in a totally different world. A Fae world that is nothing like she has ever seen and Kingfisher is the man that brought her from the human world. Can you imagine the chaos that occurred when a human was in their world? Thus begins the adventure of she and Kingfisher and a whole host of other characters that you are going to fall in love with and I’d me remiss not to mention the quicksilver. There is a war, Kingfisher is the greatest in the land and they need her to win this war. Buckle up. It is one heck of a ride that I loved every single second of. This is one of the best books that I have read this year. I can’t wait to see what they next book brings and don’t let that make you think this one ends and your hanging off the edge of a cliff, because your not.
