Camp Friends Are Forever Friends
Or so the motto of Camp Crestview says.
Having been a camp counselor for the last three summers, I can handle most situations that come my way courtesy of rowdy children. This year shouldn’t be any different, even with a new counselor who’s everyone’s type and too good to be true. But even so, Kayde Lane is nothing I can’t deal with.
Until I stumble upon him at night with an ax and sinister intentions towards the campers we’re meant to protect
Unable to let him kill anyone, I strike a dangerous bargain with Kayde, only to realize the true extent of his darkness. With every demand he makes, pushing me to the brink of my moral boundaries, I’m torn between survival and the haunting allure of his control.
As the nights pass and Kayde’s demands escalate, I find myself teetering on the edge of sanity, questioning my own desires and the twisted games he plays with my mind.
Seven nights are all I need to survive with Kayde, and if I can do that, everyone lives.
If I can believe the words of a serial killer obsessed with breaking me, that is.
Dead of Summer is a 110k+ word dark romance M/F standalone. It features a possessive, over the top hero and themes that not all readers may appreciate, and may be triggering to some. For a full list of TWs, please see the author’s note.
Renee’s Five Star Review
This is a book that once you start it you are not going to be able to put it down. It is the story of Summer and Kayden. It also takes place at Camp Crestview. A camp where Camp Friends are Forever Friends. I have to say that I knew this was described as a horror book, so that really gave me the chills when I read the motto for the camp.
Summer is looking forward to returning for the eight days that Camp Crestview is in session. She has worked there precious summer. And, like all the summers before she figures it will be uneventful with only some fights between the campers and the occasion scrapes and bruises. What she didn’t see coming was Kayden. He is a new camp counselor and everyone agrees that he is the hottest thing they have seen since sliced bread. He is a little hottie and I have to warn you that he will about light your Kindle on fire at times. Summer, finds him one night as she is out patrolling the camp grounds. The odd things is that he has a ax in his hands. She knows that she has a duty to keep everyone safe and she strikes up a deal with Kayden. Little did she know that in his eyes, a deal isn’t the deal you originally say yes to. It is a ever changing things in his mind and he isn’t going to change that now. That is about all I can say about the book. I don’t want to give something away that I shouldn’t. However, this book is really good. I loved these characters. There is a lot of heat in this book. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Malory. She is one of the campers at camp. She is a little spit fire and is going to be bad to the bone when she grows up. I hope that one day we get to see her grown and the person that she grows up to be.
