I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is a dark fantasy romance. It is also the first book in a duet. You should expect a cliffhanger. It is the story of Ophelia and Alex. Alex is funny and charming and has the best sense of humor. Him quoting Dickinson to annoy Ophelia had me cracking up because that is exactly something that would annoy the fire out of me. He is a guy that really cares a whole lot for his family and would do absolutely anything for them. Opehila has been so lonely for a few years now. She has a hard time trusting people but she really does not have a hard time making friends. I love that she was able to find her only family in the most unexpected places. I loved that she was a girl who would escape through books and crossword puzzles. Sounds very familiar to me as a reader. This story is a slow burn and you are going to love every second of it. I think that you need to experience this story for yourself so I am not even going to talk about the story. I can not wait to have the next book in my hands.
