Pledge with Trust…
Twenty-five thousand dollars to let some entitled, rich guy boss me around for a month?
Sign. Me. Up.
Most days, I did that for free and called it being female.
But it turns out the rumors circulating campus are true.
A secret society wants to pay me for their privilege.
Life has thrown me nothing but lemons since I lost my father.
Crippling student loans. Unpaid medical bills. Overdue rent.
Enter The Quest, the solution to all my problems.
To win it, I have to become a Maiden,
Navigate a snake pit of secrets and betrayal,
And fight to resist temptation, all for the chance at a fresh start.
Submitting to D’Arthur University’s brotherhood of Knights won’t be an easy feat.
Camelot Court’s most notorious members will test my honor and my limits.
But to the victor goes the spoils…
And The Quest is one game I can’t afford to lose.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is a retelling that is loosely based on King Arthur. This is also a why choose romance. This is the story of Quinn. I will go ahead and warn you that you’re not going to be able to lay this book down once you pick it up. Quinn is a girl who knows great loss. She only had one parent still living and when she lost them she was basically alone in the world. She is also in college and really in need of some cash. She has to pay for school and support herself. When she finds out that she can make twenty five thousand dollars quickly. All she has to do is let a rich guy boss her around for a month. She was all in when she found this out and signed up for this so fast I think her head was spinning. She also, I don’t think was in over her head a little bit. There is a lot going on in this story. Secrets and lies. A whole lot of rules and big betrayals. I can’t leave out the guys in this one. Landon, Kingston and Max. I really had the best time reading this book. I thought that it was so well written that you see it paying in your head like a movie as you are reading.

~~~~~~~
The King’s Maiden is first in a planned four-book series and will end on a cliffhanger. The series will
conclude with resolution and some variation of happiness for the characters. This is a Why Choose
romance, which means the FMC will end up with more than one love interest. Swords may cross, if
tensions rise high enough before the end of the series. It is a story about Knights, after all.
Meet Elle Parker:
Elle Parker is not a fan of writing about herself and has recently learned she hates doing so more in
third person. She would much rather be writing about her FMCs and the characters who love them.
Elle’s characters are flawed, tiny pieces of her soul. She loves giving each of them a space within the
pages of a book. Her stories often involve unpacking trauma, finding their voices, and reclaiming the
freest, truest versions of themselves. Because Elle’s writing journey has been very much the same in her
own life, and she is really excited to share it with you.
In her free time, she enjoys reading voraciously, mothering imperfectly, and getting through the chaos
of life anxiously. But above all, she loves writing, reading, and talking about books with her best
friends—the ones she met on the Internet while writing Roswell fanfiction before anyone told her about
stranger danger.
In June of 2023, Elle began writing again after a long period away. The same day, her grandfather fell
into a coma. During the twenty-three days he was on life support, she wrote and finished her first full
length novel, completing it on the day he passed away. While processing grief and giving voice to pain
that had been long-repressed, she found she had a lot of stories inside her.
These stories vary in genre, subgenres, and tropes, because she couldn’t pick just one that felt right.
But luckily, 2023 was also the year Elle Parker learned she didn’t always have to choose.
About Renee Henson
Renee Henson has an obsession with reading and reviewing. Especially anything that is a dark romance, fairy tale retelling, MC, and is trying her best to love the PNR worlds. Nothing is quiet as exciting to her as reading a good book and then talking about it or making comments while reading with her friends that have read the book too. She is always happiest with her kindle in her hand and her nose is a book. She has been reviewing for Stephanie's Book Reports for over ten years.
