As a hitman for hire, Percivale is no stranger to violence. From the moment he saw Blossom Jaymes through the window of her bakery, he knew he was in too deep. Not only was she as sweet as her perfectly crafted treats, but she was a soft-spoken, golden-haired angel that shone like a bright beacon in his dark world. And Percivale didn’t deal in angels. He dealt in death and crime. The even bigger issue? Percivale’s next hit is on said sweet little baker who doesn’t seem to realize how much danger lurks around her with each passing day. If he doesn’t get the job done, who will? When Percivale has to decide what’s more important to him–the life of a woman who may very well be innocent or getting his revenge on the men who murdered his family–the lines become blurred. Morals are twisted and a deathly chase ensues that can only result in one thing–Blossom buried six feet under. Or can it? Can Percivale let his lust for revenge go in order to save Blossom from the bounty or her head, or will the power she unknowingly hold over him be what gets her killed?
This is yet another book written in the Cavaalieri Della Morte Series and it is amazing. I love Percivale and Blossom. He is the hired killer without much of a conscience and she is the Bakery with a heart of gold that finds herself on his hit list. Perc likes to watch her and for the life of him can not figure out why exactly he is suppose to kill her. He also has this thing with getting revenge on the Irish mob for killing his family which he witnessed as a little boy. Arthur saved him from himself and Perc goes and does anything he has him to do with no questions asked. When Blossom finds herself in serious danger in the middle of the night in her bakery it is Perc who comes to the rescue even knowing that he is going to have to kill her. This is the beginning of a road trip with a lot of revelations and some smoking hot moments? Can he save her and have her for his very own or does the Cavalieri Della Morte hold his entire being and won’t allow her to live. You will just have to read to find out. This book is so good. I loved every second of this one and can not wait to see what we get next.
