Life is slowly getting better for Emma, thanks in no small part to real-life Prince Charming, Nathan Weber. He sweeps her off her feet, almost literally, and dotes on her from day one.

But when the unexpected happens and their pasts catch up with them, can their fairy tale still have a happy ending?

Even the strongest can break. Love has the power to consume, but also has the power to break.

Review:
Let me start by saying abuse of any kind is nothing anyone should put up with.  If you’re in a physically or verbally abusive relationship you are better than what your significant other is telling you and you need to believe in yourself enough to get out and move on.  The abuser needs help.  But like any other individual with issues, unless they’re willing to deal with why they’re abusive, there’s no changing them.  Please know there are people willing to help you when you’re ready to help yourself and your children, if you have them.  Links will be posted at the end.
OK….so…A Lucky Second Chance is the debut book of author Nickie Seidler.  Nickie has done a great job with giving an ugly social issue it’s due in this novel.  Emma Dunn, the female lead, came to her senses one day after her, then fiance, beat her within an inch of no returning.  She fled and returned home to live with her brother until she could get her feet “on the ground.”  Soon after her move and new job, she meets Nathan (Nate) Weber.  She has such a strong feeling of safety and attraction when she’s around Nate.
Like most individuals, they both have their issues.  Emma struggles with telling or not telling Nate about her ex and the way he treated her.  After a few instances she finds she has to tell Nate in order to keep herself and him safe.
Nate has some cleaning to do himself.  His ex tries to worm her way back to Nate and it makes Emma doubt his love for her.
This book has a lot of social no no’s….abuse, breaking & entering, fraud, theft, attempted murder.  Can Emma and Nate trust each other and their love  for one another?  Check out A Lucky Second Chance and see!

Excerpt:

“I’m sorry. I had to pinch you and make sure this moment was real.” I smiled up at him. “That was wonderful. I’ve felt the same way.” I was struck by another daze as his touch sent ripples of sensation down between my legs as he rubbed my back up and down. I ran my hand across his chest, feeling how tight his muscles were through his black dress shirt. “I don’t know how to say this, because we don’t even know one another, but please, don’t leave me.”

As if he completely understood me, he kissed me again, ever so gently on my lips.

“I won’t go, I want to get to know you, Emma.” He ran his fingers through my hair.
“You may not like what you get to know.” A tear fell down my cheek.

“Let me take that risk,” he whispered. Then tenderly, he kissed my forehead.

“Come on, let’s go get some coffee. You like coffee, right?” He grinned.

“I love coffee. I need coffee.” I chuckled.
