Bane is a spin off of the Sinners of Saint Series from L.J. Shen. It can be read as a standalone.

Bane is a naked surfer, habitual pothead, con, liar, thief and a fraud. Last I heard, he was extorting the rich and screwing their wives for a living. Which is why I am more than a little surprised to find him at my threshold looking for my friendship, my services, and more puzzling of all–looking humbled. Thing is, I’m on a boycott. Literally-I cut boys from my life. Permanently. Problem is, Bane is not a boy, he is all man and I am falling, crashing, drowning in his sweet, perfect lies.

Jesse Carter is hot as hell, cold as ice. I wasn’t aware of her existence until a fat, juicy deal landed in my lap. SHe is a part of it, a little plaything to kill some time. She is collateral, a means to an end and a side-bonus for striking a deal with her oil tycoon stepdad. More than anything, Jesse Carter is a tough nut to crack. Little does she know, I have the teeth for it.

Oh holy goodness!!! There is so much that goes on in this book that it will have your head spinning. I swear to you I never saw some of the things that come at me coming my way. This book is absolutely amazing. Jesse is basically hiding from her life due to an incident that is going to tear your heart out once it is revealed. Her stepdad is a multimillionaire and when Bane goes to him looking for someone to invest in Surf City that he wants to create they strike a deal that Bane will become Jesse’s friend and will have her out in the world living once again. However what neither of them count on is the way that Jesse will react to Bane and Bane to Jesse. But the deal is for nothing romantic in any way to happen between Jesse and Bane. Bane is quick to agree and this sets into motion a story that will have your heart pounding, you ready to stab someone in the neck, rooting for love like you never have, your heart in pieces, you mouth on the floor and most of all you going to fall so in love with Jesse and Bane and this entire story. It is not a pretty one. It is not for the faint of heart but it is beautiful. It is inspirational. It is everything that a good romance should be. I have read several of L.J. Shen’s book but this one is going to have to be my favorite. I felt like it was different from the other. I loved how it was told mainly from Bane’s point of view like he was sitting and telling you a story but it too has Jesse’s point of view. I just thought that Bane’s way of telling the story was so much fun. However Jesse’s is where the inspirational moments come from. She is one tough female character when she finally gets out of her shell. I could just go on and on and on but you guys just need to go get this book and enjoy every last single second of this book.
