He weaves his fingers with mine and guides me toward the windows.

“I used to come up here after my run in the mornings,” he says quietly as we look out at the horizon.

“So you worked out and then climbed the stairs? By choice?” I ask with a raised brow.

His throaty laugh echoes through the building as he steps closer to me. “Not all of us find exercise dumb. There are lots of activities that can be”—he coughs and smiles—“enjoyable.”

Jackson’s playful grin causes my eyes to widen and my cheeks to flush. Him and his mouth!

“Well, only if you do it right.” I smile and slap him across the chest.

“I always do it right,” he says as he walks past me.

“I’m sure you do.” I mutter beneath my breath hoping he doesn’t hear.

“What was that?”

Of course he heard me.

“Nothing. Just admiring the view.” I lie and stare out the window.

I looked forward to reading this story as the author is a personal friend of mine.  It’s really cool reading a book one of your friends wrote!

Beloved begins with Catherine’s 9th birthday party as her daddy is moving out….leaving….abandoning her.  Then her fiance, a real jackass, has an affair with one of her college friends.  Catherine is so over men.  Done with them….with what they represent in her live.  She yearns to love and be loved.

The new man in her life, Jackson, is not only her client but one hot specimen of a man.  She’s called to break all her rules but she deserves this chance doesn’t she?  To find true love.  He’s a former Navy SEAL.  After traveling together for a work trip things get complicated.

As the story evolved I thought the characters were a bit funny and endearing.  Corinne did a great job with this book.  I think she picked the right tone for this story and the characters are awesome.

This is book one in the series.  I am looking forward to reading the next book.  I think you should give Jackson & Catherine a chance
