BLURB:

There were always whispers about my roommate at Hillcrest Academy.

The wealthiest of the wealthy sent their kids to our boarding school, and Brooke Bennett had been at the top, though I never quite knew why. She was fun and outgoing, but she kept quiet about her family. The only things she showed me were photographs of her brothers.

I became fascinated with her second-oldest brother. Kai Bennett.

He was the most of them all. Smoldering. Hypnotic. Alluring.
Kai had eyes that pulled me in and a face that haunted my dreams.

Then I met him.

He came to our school with their father, and that’s when I learned what kind of family Brooke came from. They were mafia, and Brooke’s oldest brother was dead. Her father said accident, but Brooke said murder.

Three months later, her father died, and Kai became the head of the Bennett Family. Brooke left Hillcrest for good, and that was the last time I saw her.

Fourteen years later, I’m staring at her face on the television. Brooke is missing.

Two days later, Kai Bennett kidnaps me.

CHRISTINA’S FOUR STAR REVIEW:

Every time I pick up a Tijan book, I know what I’m gonna get. I know that I won’t be able to put the book down. I know that I will literally fall in love with each and every one of the characters (even if they’re supposed to be evil), and I know that no matter what the ending, I’ll want more….ALWAYS!!! And this book is no exception.

Riley is the daughter of a wealthy businessman who not only deals with the Mafia, but is the epitome of evil. After being sent to a private school to escape her family, she became friends with a daughter of the Mafia. Little did she know that fourteen years later, her life would never be the same.

Kai is the son of a Mafia King. Was he the oldest? No. But he’s been groomed to take over the family business for as long as he could remember. And now that his little sister is missing, he’s willing to do anything to get her back. Anything.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from reading this author is that everything written has a purpose. Every scene. Every minute detail. Every. Single. Thing. And it’s so captivating that there is absolutely NO WAY you could pull yourself away from the story being told (trust me, I struggled juggling #life and reading this). I mean, even the acknowledgments pulled me in. Geez…

I don’t want to give too much away in my review, but let me just say this…it’s amazing how a few simple acts could end up being life altering events. If you’re willing to pay attention to them.

I know that this is a standalone and should probably stay that way. But, come on!!!! Anyone who finishes this is going to wonder if there could be another Bennett sequel. I know I am.
