To believe one person can change your destiny sounds absurd. But it happened to me… twice.

But this time around, I can’t have her.

I absolutely love reading books by Kim Karr. She’s so talented. Her stories flow really well and I typically connect with the characters right away. In Big Shot we have Jace, who you met in Sexy Jerk, and Hannah. They have a history but may not have a future.
Jace is held back by the death of his wife. She was the perfect woman who tamed the wild boy. However, Hannah was his first love. There were many things wrong with the relationship they had and their ending was the beginning of his destruction.
Now they have met again…around ten years later. So much has changed for both of them, except the magnitude of their sexual attraction. Jace is a single parent. He has a responsibility to his child. Even if she’s sometimes smarter than he is at her young age. This is a relationship that will have you “awing” throughout the story. Jace’s love for his daughter is so all-encompassing he’d do anything to make her happy but he does have firm lessons so she’s not outrageously spoiled.
Hannah is his kryptonite though. He must stay away. But there’s a few things pushing them together. The emotion Jace shows in the story gives you a picture of what his love for his wife is like. How he adored her. Yet, he loved Hannah first. The tug of war on his emotional state is real for his character.
It’s a wonder these two can even think they’d be better apart than together.
