This is the story of Dove and Meroveo. Dove is being raised by one heck of a strong mother. She teaches Dove so much about Botany and the flora growing on the island of Salamanca that they live on in the Caribbean. Dove has dreams of her own that include going to college to study ethnobotany. She wants to live her life freely, and one day fall in a man who is head over heels for her. However, when she meets Meroveo she knows that this man has darkness living inside of him. He is equally respected and feared by everyone. She just never expected her Uncle to arrange a marriage between the two of them. This is so that Meroveo will help Dove’s family business which has been running on the island for generations. However, it doesn’t take long for Dove to figure out that his life is full of mysteries and secrets. She never even after being married tho I’m feels like she really knows the man at all. There is so much suspense and secrets flying around this book. Once you pick this book up you are so drawn in that it is hard to lay it down. I loved that this book has all kinds of folklore in it that your going to love reading about.
