This is the story of Ghost and Ember. When Ghost left his small town in Texas to go to Oregon to chase his dreams, his fiance did not follow him. This in turn made their relationship impossible to maintain and both their hearts were broken. Ember in turn had a dream of being a nurse. She was going to make it her life mission to take care of people in their worst times of needs that had been abandoned by their families. Now, Ghost is back in his hometown because his mother needs him. She doesn’t recognize him anymore most of the time. He knows that he can’t take care of her by himself and he has to hire some help. He knows that there is only one person in this world that he would trust with his moms care…Ember. She on the other hand is reluctant to take the job when it is offered to her. But she can’t turn Ghost down. After all, his mother was almost her mother in law at one point in time. Now these two are in each other’s lives again. Both have feelings that still linger. Will he be able to take care of his mom until he isn’t going to have to and walk away? Will she be able to stay away from him with all the time they are going to be spending together? You have to read to find out. I really loved reading this story. There is also some danger in this book that makes for a great edge of your seat moment. I thought these two were perfect for each other. I loved everything about them both. I love a good second chance romance and this one was great.
