This is the second book in the Dark Sovereign series. You have to have read Alexius before you even dive into this book or you are going to be very lost. This book picks up right where Alexius left off. These two are in an arrangement of a marriage because Alexius needed a wife and Leandra is all alone in the world and couldn’t very well turn down the offer that Alexius made her. However things have changed along the way and the wife he had to take because he needed one for his father to be satisfied that he could be the Dark Sovereign leader he needed him to be before he dies, turns into so much more than either of these two could have ever imagined. These two really grow in this book and Alexius will burn the world down for Leandra. He is jealous and possessive but he doesn’t have to worry because all Leandra sees is Alexius. However there is danger coming that no one could have predicted. Someone is coming for Alexius and his brothers and wants their reign in the Dark Sovereign to end. To accomplish this they leave very cryptic messages in a surprising place on the properties that they own or use. It is a battle of a man who has fallen very much in love and will not let anything happen to Leandra and a psychopath who is a threatening them and everything they have.
I loved every single second of this book. I loved them even more than I fell for them in Alexius. I loved the story they had to tell and I swear I spent a lot to time on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who was after them. This is a book you will not lay down, and just can not not know who is trying to end the reign of a family who has run the Dark Sovereign for generations. Will they succeeded in this plan of theirs? Or, will Alexius and Leandra who them just exactly what they are made of and are building together? You have to read and find out but I promise you you are going to love every single second of reading this book.
