Right off the bat your going to read the prologue and know what it was coming but it still broke my heart and I was a mess for a little bit in this book. I can’t tell you why you just have to find out by reading the book. A few years ago Arden lost her pack/family and she barely got though it and came out of the other side of all her grief. She is bound a determined to never move one and will not open herself like that again. She can not and will not be hurt like that again. However life is all about second chances and Arden is about to get hers. Locke is her best friend and he has been in love with her for as long as he can remember. However he is planted in the friend zone but this beta would do anything and everything for Arden. He is funny and caring and is always up to five a foot rub and spoil Arden a little bit. But, if you make him angry he will unleash the beast. Cohen is a workaholic.He is a cop and knows that at any minute he could be hurt in the line of duty. It gives him a buzz that he is addicted to and he like Arden doesn’t want a pack. He can’t take the chance on getting hurt and putting his pack through that. Bastian is silent guard who watches and protects from the shadows. However he is carrying a big secret that he can never let Arden find out. But, oh what a secret it is but he has his reasons for this secret but I found myself cheering him on more than any other character and he for sure deserves the pack he wants so badly.
I enjoyed this book though I am not a huge paranormal reader. I am trying to learn to like them but at times it is hard for me to connect with the pack thing of it all and turning into something else. But, that is a me thing and not a author or book think. If you love reverse harem books that are paranormal you will love this book I feel like.
