Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is an amazing collection of eight full length novels and I don’t see how there isn’t one or more story in here that you would not love. Plus your getting eight books in one for the price that is going to save you a lot of money. This book includes:

Cuffed Kiss by Willow Winters: This is the story of Tommy and Tonya. He is an enforcer for the Valleti family, which is a mafia family. He is good at his job until his fingerprints are found at the scene of a crime. Tonya is one of the officers who is interrogating him about the case. But she also knows that the head of the family is the man who killed her sister. Will she get the answers she is looking for or maybe just more than she ever bargained for. I loved these two. They have some serious chemistry that is off the charts and it is such a great read.

Forget Me Not by Q.B. Tyler: This is the story of Olivia and Bennett. These two have been married for seven years and are headed for divorce. But when Bennett is in a terrible car accident and wakes up in the hospital back in the year of 2017, he has no idea that he broke Olivia and they are headed in the opposite direction of what he thinks is going on. That is the year he broke her heart. But he only remembers making her very happy. This is a really emotional book and I think my heart broke about a million times for them.

The Patriot by Jennifer Millikin: Wes Hayden is a man who has served three tours of duty in the military and he pays for that every day with PTSD. His family owns a huge cattle ranch and if he would only get married he would be able to take over and his father could retire. Easier said than down. But when his father decides that he is going to sale some of their land near the town he tells Wes that he has to decide who gets the property and this leads Dakota to have to deal with him. They soon realized that they met once and things happened between them. Her father wants the land badly and she is going to be the lead on the design of the development. They both need help here and you see where I am going. I thought this was a good story but man it is a really really slow burn and as much as I liked these characters I just had a hard time with reading this one at times.

Kiss of War by Clara Elroy: First of all when I looked on Goodreads to see what this book was about I saw that it was Clara Elroy’s first book. Ummm…excuse me I thought. There is just no way now that I have read it. This woman has some serious talent. It sure didn’t feel like an author’s first time writing a book to me. This is the story of Eliana and Leo. I don’t want to tell you much except that she is the daughter of a possible killer and he is the brother of the man who died. What a mess or greatness this could be. I’ll never tell.

The Office Rival by Kat T. Masen: Haden is a guy who enjoys playing games and he has this co-worker who has a really extreme case of OCD and he really loves to mess with Presley. The poor girl was once engaged but now she isn’t and that freedom is either going to be exciting or freak her out. But when Hayden plays a prank it isn’t long until that prank just might turn into an obsession. I had so much fun reading this book!!

Off the Record by Chelle Sloan: Sadie Benson is a sports reporter and she just might know everything there ever is to know about the Nashville Fury. If anyone wants to know anything about them they come to her and she has all the answers. Well, except for things about the coach Hunter McAvoy. The man is set to be the youngest most successful football coach ever and he and Sadie might know more about each other than they ever should. What a fun read. I loved the characters and every second of the story.

Confess by A. Zavarelli: I have read this story before and I loved it maybe even more the second time. If you have never read A. Zavarelli you are in for a real treat. There are things that happen in this book you will never in a million years see coming. Gypsy and her sister Birdie have been pick pockets for a while and they are good at it. You also need to know that Gypsy takes care of Birdie and makes sure to protect her and she will never not do that for her sister. But when Lucian approaches Gyspy he is in need of a wife and he blackmails her in to doing it with the promise that Birdie would be safe. But there is so much much more to the story because there is a huge secret that Gyspy will keep at all cost. You guys will love this one.

Revenge Cake by Skyler Mason: This is the story of Leilani and Logan. I will go ahead and warn you that this book deals with a panic disorder, drug abuse addiction and the never say this word is in a book, but cheating. Now I know how a lot of people feel about cheating in a book. But I don’t share that same view. I do in real life, but when I am reading it really doesn’t bother me at all. This book will also be told in the present time and go back in the next chapter and be in the past. I don’t even know that I really got a happily ever after out of this one. Its really about two seriously messed up people. I guess I can say that. I have a panic disorder but man I don’t even think I really liked either of these characters to much. Which makes it hard to read about people that you just don’t really get invested it. It had potential at times and I so hoped and prayed it would take off or something. It might have just been me but I sure was not thrilled with this story at all. And I hate that too.
