Blog Tour Read To Me S. Rena & BL Mute

I received a copy of Read To Me from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

I only read the one story out of this anthology so I don’t want to let my rating for this story affect the entire book as I have not read all the stories in it. This is the story of Easton whose family is into a little bit of everything and Arloe who owns a book store in town and someone keeps stealing her parking spot which leads her to bless him out and then decide to apologize since she sees him going in the jewelry story the same night after work. But she can’t find him in there and goes to a back office and sees things that she shouldn’t see and could get her killed. That is exactly what Easton’s brother wants to do but Easton isn’t having any of that and he decides he’d rather date her than kill her. Well not so much date her as claim her I should say. It took me forever to get into this book. I don’t know why that happened but it did and I just never really connected with the characters like I feel like I should have. I think I was expecting a dark mafia book and while his brother’s all seemed really dark and dangerous Easton just didn’t do it for me. Arloe is cute and sassy and a book worm and has read enough mafia books to know what is going to happen to her. But it just fell short for me.
