This is the second book in the Harrow Creek Hawks Series. If you have not read Merciless I really suggest that you do. It was so good to be back with Alana, Mav, JD and Reid. Now we get to to dive really deep into the emotional parts of all the feelings flying around in this book. However you can’t forget that Alana is a girl who is hiding a lot of secrets and that it is really hard to trust people in Harrows Creek. There is just no way that you can’t love Alana. She is one strong female character and she really shows that strength even when she is feeling the total opposite of that on the inside. She has really been through is and revenge burns deep within her and now she has three guys to help her carry on with this or really to soothe her when some serious maddening thoughts are flying around inside of her. You can knock this girl down but you better expect her to jump right back up with even more strength in her spine. Then you have the guys. Reid the one who just is so stubborn that he is the very definition of the word. The story between them puts the S in slow burn and I swear one day they are just going to go up in flames. Mav and Alana have had their connection the longest, but their world gets turned on its axis in this book and I so didn’t want anything to happen that might throw them for a loop. Wishful thinking on my part. This poor guy is going to snap one day and I so can’t wait to read it when it happens. Alana might want to run on that day. Or stay and have the time of her life. I can’t really decide. JD…Oh JD the darkness you carry inside of you makes me so curious that I just want to be inside your head for a little bit. This darkness is the very thing that draws he and Alana together and one day soon that darkness just has to be unleashed and I will be right here on the edge of my seat loving every second of it. If you can’t tell, I loved this book. Devoured it.. And now I so can’t wait to have the next book, Lawless in my hands.
