BLURB Ricky Ruizโruthless kingpin, reclusive heir, the one man I canโt seem to outrun. Rumors buzz when a pic of me buying a pregnancy test goes viral. This wouldnโt be such a big deal if, roughly one month ago, I wasnโt also spotted with the new top-dog of Cypress Pointeโs most notorious crime family. The same crime family my father dedicated his entire law enforcement career trying to bring to their knees. Ricky inherited the money, the houses, the cars, but he also inherited the danger. He sleeps with one eye open and one finger on the trigger. So, when my name starts popping up alongside his on social media, the beast awakens, convinced thereโs now a target on my back, too. Heโs not big on patience or subtlety, which I realize when I come home to find him waiting in a dark corner of my apartment, in no mood for a debate. Heโs on a mission to collect what he believes is his. Me. My father warned me about the Ruiz family. If Iโd listened, I might not be locked in a room inside Rickyโs home, Iโd still have the job he decided to quit for me, and Iโd still have my freedom. I have no plans to be Rickyโs caged bird. Not even with an army of street soldiers at his disposal. Heโd beg to differ. According to him, itโs just a matter of time before I give in and admit what he claims to have known from the beginning. That Iโm already his. Renee’s Five Star Review I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports. This is a dark romance. You will need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book.
If you have read the other five books then you know just who Ricky is and were probably like me and needed to know all you could know about him and more. He’s mentioned in every book I do believe but never enough to really know him. I was so excited to open this book and dive in. Ricky hasn’t live in Cypress Pointe for a while but now he is back and when a certain night leads to a pic on the internet of Dez buying a pregnancy test then he is there to stay and she is going to stay with him weather she likes it or not. That Pandora is at it again and always making people’s lives as crazy as they can possibly be. Now here is where I knew I already liked Dez. The girl was on a mission though to avenge her fathers death because she just knows that Ricky family or maybe even Ricky had something to do with it. She gives a whole new meaning to the word sleeping with the enemy and while Ricky’s reaction to have her moved in to his house locked in a room was not the best thing he ever could have done it was a great way for us to get to know the real Ricky and the Ricky he is outside of the many hats he has to wear to run his family. There are quiet a few things that go on in this book and I don’t want to spoil anything but I do have to say that you are going to fall so in love with Ricky and will totally understand the man and why he is the way he is. It is so hard to remember that the guy is just twenty two. I think it always surprises me when I think about it. He is ruthless and protective of the ones he loves and I have to say I respected him for getting his hands dirty when he had to handle things with his family. But the Ricky we get when he is with Dez is the Ricky we all need in our lives. I loved him so much and I have to say this guy has a heart of gold and just gosh I could gush about him for day. This book as you would expect if you have been reading the series is dark and gritty at times but the moments with Dez are just amazing and so so swoon worthy. HE in my opinion turned out to be one of the most amazing male characters in the series. I also have to say that I have to shut up or I will gush about him forever and start telling you things that you don’t really need to know. AND this is the huge reveal of Pandora and I’d be lying if I said I figured it out because I was so far off in left field I’m surprised I was even in the ball field. I do not think that anyone is ever going to be able to figure this bad boy out. But I also have to admit I closed this book a little freaked out too. I hope that means more Cypress Point stories for us because I could read a million books in this world.
