Blurb:

I’ve always been on the outside looking in—a female tech genius meeting every conceivable human need for others, yet struggling with a basic fundamental necessity—connection.

My days are filled with code and algorithms, but my nights are haunted by isolation and loneliness.

When I’m asked to beta test a new advanced AI system created by three brilliant and painfully good-looking colleagues, what I thought was a straightforward task quickly turns into something far more complex.

They started watching me.

Tracking my every move.

What began as simple data collection on their end has transformed into a fixation.

The beta test is over, but the three men can’t seem to stop.

Watching.

Analyzing.

Obsessing.

They saw my loneliness, my trauma, and now they want to breach the barrier and give me the closeness I crave.

But will the secrets they hold break our intense connection?

***SOUL CODE is a slow burn, spicy ‘why choose’ contemporary romance. It is the first book of the Coded Connections Duet and ends on a cliffhanger. Some parts may be triggering.***

Trigger Warnings:

From The Author:

Please be aware that this duet contains some triggering content, including themes of stalking, though presented in a non-menacing manner, voyeurism, parental psychological and physical abuse, self harm in form of hair pulling also known as trichotillomania. Depression and suicide of a side character, anaphylactic shock scenario, discussion of eating habits, and distorted body image.

It explores futuristic concepts around smart home systems, AI, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR), featuring innovations not currently available on the market. Please note that any inaccuracies in the depiction of these technologies are used under creative license to enhance the narrative and are not intended to spread misinformation.

This book does not cover or support Generative AI—the kind that uses other people’s work to create new content like art. I don’t use or promote this type of AI because it takes credit away from the original creators. It’s about technology that’s meant to help, not to take.

Renee’s Five Star Review

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This is a reverse harem romance. It is the story of Amelia, Oliver, Grey and Misha. Amelia lived in London until she moved away and is now living it Seattle doing what she loves. She is smart as whip and working in her spare time on a AI system that now one has ever come up with before. It is new and exciting for her. She works with a lot of talented people and three of the hottest men anyone has ever seen in their office. However, things are about to get very interesting because she is about to work with he three of them very closely. Oliver has had a crush on Amelia since the moment he notices her around work. Grey and Misha really haven’t paid much attention until they all start spending a lot of time together. However, when things explode and secrets are revealed who will be left standing? I loved these characters. I love that this is not a instant love story. They all have had trauma in their life they have survived, are all super sweet and smart. This is a different story than what you usually read and I loved that about this book too.

Author Bio:

Blake Black is an author with a passion for the why choose genre.

As an avid reader and film buff, Blake often found herself questioning why heroines were forced to choose between love interests – why not choose both, or all?

When she’s not crafting her next spicy scene, Blake loves to drive her convertible, soaking in the beauty of nature.

Powered by her favorite energy drinks, she often writes deep into the night, creating stories filled with trauma, healing, and love that illuminates even the darkest corners.
