Release Date: June 17
Arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, Mafia/cartel romance
As the only daughter of the Kansas City capo, at eighteen years of age, I was given to the son of my father’s consigliere, a man who was expected to accomplish great things for the famiglia. Things didn’t go the way we planned.
There wasn’t love.
My husband was a traitor, taking part in a coup against the famiglia.
My husband is dead.
I’m free.
Until the fateful night my brother, our new capo, informs me that I’ve once again been promised in marriage. He explains that as a childless widow and the daughter of the late capo dei capi, I am desired—requested.
Aléjandro Roríguez is the son of the leader of the Roríguez cartel. My brother married a woman from the cartel, securing the Mafia/cartel alliance. He says that it’s now my turn.
I’ve only met my future husband a few times, but I know without a doubt that I don’t like him. Loving him is impossible. I’ve lived in a marriage without love. I won’t do it again.
Aléjandro lives a dangerous existence.
Death saved me once before.
Maybe it will again.

Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
This is the story of Mia and Alejandro. Mia is the sister of the capo to the Kanas City Mafia and Alejandro is son to the head or the Mexican Cartel. However, Mia has been in a horrible relationship that her father arranged for her and now that he is gone she is free to do as she pleases him her mind after her mourning period is over. However her brother is not the new capo and has other plans for her. Plans that she is so not excited about at all. He is going to marry her of to Alejandro and she wants absolutely nothing to do with this arrangement. She is a very vocal girl but she knows that she cannot not do what her brother says. I thought that at times she came across as a big brat. She is mouthy and disrespectful and just mad at the world. All while the impression I got of her in the last book was that she thought she was a little above everyone else. However, Alejandro is not at all what she expected. But coming out of a bad marriage she has learned that these arranged marriage are pretty much what the man says and that’s the end of it. However Alejandro is totally different that what any of us were really expecting. If you have read the first book, then you know what I am talking about. He is patient and kind and really just loves the fire that he saw in Mia the first time they ever met. I loved watch Mia come out of her shell. Mix in danger and super yachts. Some laughs and moment that have you on the edge of your seat and you have one amazing read. I cannot wait to see whose story we get next in this series. I am loving these books so much.
