TO HAVE AND TO HOLD

Aleatha Romig

Release Date: March 24

Arranged marriage, age-gap, forbidden, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, Romeo and Juliet vibes, dangerous romance The Roríguez cartel is spinning out of control, tragedy putting the alliance and our future in question. I’m Emiliano Ruiz and throughout the last few years, I’ve witnessed my sisters being doled out to members of the Luciano Mafia. The cartel has also taken famiglia women. It doesn’t matter if it’s the Luciano famiglia’s turn to take a bride. My mind is set—it’s my turn. I never imagined marrying a young bride until I caught sight of Isabella Luciano. She’s only eighteen, and with her long yellow hair and her big dark eyes, she’s a vision to behold. She sees me through the tinted lens of her father’s hatred. Carmine Luciano’s distain of the cartel and the alliance isn’t a secret. His opinion won’t stop me. I’ll prove to Isabella that even bad men can be good husbands. No matter what her father says or what happens in our war, Isabella will be mine. Have you been Aleatha’d? Renee’s Five Star Review
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Repots. This is the last book in the Brutal Vows Series. I have to say that I am super sad this is the last book. I have loved every single book in this series. There have been so many amazing characters in this book. But, I have been waiting since first being introduced to Emiliano Ruiz story since we were introduced to him in the first book Now and Forever. He is Catalina’s brother and was terribly opposed to his sister marrying a man who is the capo of the Roríguez Cartel. Their marriage joined The Roriguez Cartel and the Luciano Famiglia. Now he finds himself in the interesting position of being attracted to a member of the Luciano Famiglia. I have to stop here and say that the female characters in this book have been absolutely amazing. They have changed the way their men are beginning to think about the women in these families having choices, and I loved that. Now on to the main reason we are here. Emiliano and Isabella. She has been raised in the Cartel life. Her father has a high up position, but is one of the member of that organization that is not thrilled with some of their women marrying into the Luciano Famiglia. When there is a birthday party to attend he makes sure that his family knows they are not to speak to any one members of the Famiglia and are to only hang out with other girls from the Cartel. A quick in and out before a fight breaks out is all that Isabella can hope for. She however accidentally runs into the one man she shouldn’t speak to because of her father. Em is intrigued by her but she is very scared of him and a little freaked out. Fast forward to the summer and Izzy is not living with Mia and Alejandro in a strange city, starting a job she isn’t sure how to do and a head filled with what her father and mother have told her about the members of the cartel. She is about to spend a month around the cartel and find out that the world is not as seems since she was super sheltered and possibly lied to her entire life. When Em sees Isabella again you can tell that the sparks are going to fly. But she is innocent and shy and he knows that she has to take his time. When he proposes a tour of Kansas City since they have been in lock down since she got to the city, I knew in my heart that this “Tour” would be the change of everything from her. I have to stay that these two have some amazing chemistry. I have to stop talking about the story now. But trust me I could go on and on about this story. I loved these two characters. Em is such a gentleman and getting to know him as himself and not just a character I wanted to know more about did not disappoint. Izzy is sweet and innocent and the way she sees life and the simple things that bring her such joy was so refreshing. In a dark world that she doesn’t really know much about that is truth, she is a light that I do believe Em needed in his life. You are going to love these characters and this book. You do not want to miss it. If you haven’t started this now complete series, I highly recommend that you start it now. You have Five amazing books and couples to fall for. Add in the danger and drama and the smoking hot moments and you have one heck of a series to read.
