This is the story of Ellian and Carter. When her mom marries Paul, Carter becomes her stepbrother. He never wanted a step sibling and if she disappeared forever it wouldn’t bother him one bit. It’s not long before he begins to torture her. She however, is a girl who doesn’t like to be seen. She is perfectly fine hiding away from the world. This poor girl has a mother that is absolutely horrible to her. So there is no love at home and school is no better. She is in survival mode all the time. My heart really broke for her. These two have a lot of push and pull between them. No matter if he is awful or tying to make things better, it only makes things worse. With time and patience he begins to realize that she is nothing like her mom. This is the turning of the corner and all that I can tell you. This is a really good bully romance. You do not want to miss it.

I wasn’t sure about the bully romance angle at first, but it sounds like the author really dives into the emotional trauma behind each character’s behavior. That kind of depth makes all the difference and makes me want to understand their journey even more.
